Ragtime - a twenty-first century musical by composer Stephen Flaherty, lyricist Lynn Ahrens, and book writer Terrence McNally, and inspired by the novel by E.L. Doctorow - charts the tectonic shifts in American politics, culture, and family life between the turn of the twentieth century and the first World War.
The video design in this production served to unite the work's often swirling disparate narratives and locations into a singular and uniquely American historical moment.
I designed a series of 3D animations used to set and enhance geographic locations and to characterize and reveal psychological mindsets.
